Virtual
A little while back there were a couple of patches released to deal with problems relating to DPM2010 RC protecting Hyper-V R2 virtual machines on CSV's. What wasn't made clear though is to install both these patches, they need to be installed in specific order.
Matt McSpirit at Microsoft has posted a blog article to cover exactly how these patches should be installed, check it out at http://blogs.technet.com/mattmcspirit/archive/2010/03/26/dpm-2010-rc-and-hyper-v-r2-vm-s-on-csv-s-order-of-patches.aspx.
Please read Matt's article before deploying KB975921 and KB975354 to save...

Virtual
A new knowledge base article has been released to resolve the issue where you receive a "DPM encountered a retryable VSS error" error message when you use DPM 2007 or DPM 2010 to protect a Hyper-V virtual machine that has Forefront TMG 2010 installed.
Basically the fix is to increase the web caching size in Forefront TMG 2010 but click this link for full details, http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=981948.

A potential problem with Volume Manager on Windows Server 2008 systems may lead to data loss. This hot fix does not apply to Windows Server 2008 R2 nor does it apply to Vista.
Microsoft recommends that you apply this hotfix on any Windows Server 2008 platform that is currently using or planning to use dynamic disks.
This hot fix is not DPM-specific. However, because DPM servers do utilize dynamic disks, it is important to apply this hotfix on WS08-based DPM servers so that your backup-data is not lost from the DPM storage pool.
Click the link below to get the...

Note After you apply this hotfix rollup, the DPM error logs...
