This will help you. Already Capacity ready answer.

You should make a "device configuration" in the backup software, drive to join the boot loader and will enter the "Online", with support slots become available, mount all the slots with the carriers.

Multiple Storage Pools

Hi- Does DPM support multiple storage pool disks? We have a total of 48 spindles used in the storage pool. They are configured as 4x 12 spindle virtual disks by the RAID controller. I would prefer to have 4 different storage pools as we would like to run multiple backups at the same time and believe that we would get better performance if the pools are seperated such that one backup job doesn't slow down the other when multiple backup jobs are running at the same time. Our san, where all of our VMs are located, are already seperated in various spindle pools for the purpose of isolating specific applications from being affected by other high disk IO apps. For example, we would like to configure DPM with 1 pool to file servers, another to Exchange, another to SQL and another to Sharepoint for example. Because the IO is sequential writes for the purpose of backing up, we believe we can get better throughput as opposed to running 4 write intensive jobs to all 48 spindles.

Is there a way to configure DPM to use multiple storage disk pools?

Thanks.

Re: DPM Backup Saved State

Hi korada77,

When a VM has the Hyper-V integration tools installed it should be protected as Child Partition Snapshot. When it does not have Hyper-V integration tools installed or is a legacy operating system it will be protected as Saved state. Double check your VM's for the Hyper-V integration tools.
