The error in the picture below seems to be popping up more and more with people that are using an evaluation copy of Firestreamer. The evaluation copy of this software is only valid for 30 days and after this time it will go into a read-only mode which will cause tape protection to fail and the error to be generated.
You can confirm that the error is due to an expired Firestreamer license within Firestreamer itself. Select Activity from the tree and you should see a warning stating the medium is write protected and an error stating that you need to purchase a license as in the image below.
Obviously there is a simple resolution to this problem, buy a license and install it :-)
More on Firestreamer
Firestreamer is a great piece of software that enables DPM to access a wide range of non-tape storage media, making possible long-term and off-site retention of data without the need for tape drives. To trial and/or purchase the software, visit the Firestramer site at http://www.firestreamer.com/fs.
