Congratulations to Mike Resseler who has received the MVP award for System Center Data Protection Manager. Mike has posted some great articles on the SCUG.BE Data Protection Manager blog, http://scug.be/blogs/scdpm/, and provides continued support in the forums at Microsoft and here at SCDPM Online.
Check out details of his achievement here, http://scug.be/blogs/scdpm/archive/2010/07/01/mvp-award.aspx.
Well done Mike!
I would also like to mention two other people who also got awarded an MVP for DPM, they are:
Fatih Karaalioglu – FaKaOnline.com
Islam Gomaa – Islam’s blog
Congrats...

I was informed recently by MS that the licensing of DPM had changed and I was getting some information together to write a post about it when Jason Buffington posted all the details on his blog yesterday. So rather than wasting my time writing up the same information as Jason, I might as well just point you at his licensing post.

The major change is that you no longer need to purchase a license for your DPM server. With DPM 2007 you would have purchased your DPM management licenses for the...

Finally, DPM2010 is now available on MSDN and TechNet.

With a lot of System Center products being RTM'd last week, I have noticed a lot of questions being asked about where the documentation is. Well here is the link for the documentation for DPM 2010 up on the Microsoft TechNet library.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff399192.aspx
I haven't read it all yet as I have only just discovered that it's there but looking at the headings everything seems to be covered :-)

Due to the volcanic ash in the sky above Europe, I will not be able to attend MMS this year :-(
This is very disappointing, especially with all the news on SCCM, DPM2010 and Service Manager that is scheduled. I hope as many people as possible can make it to Las Vegas but I do know of many other Europeans that have had to cancel their MMS trip.
For those of you that do get there, have a great time !
If you were planning on attending my session "BB37 Deploying and Managing Data Protection Manager (DPM) in Large Enterprises", unfortunately I wont be there. If my co-speaker...

With the Icelandic volcanic ash in the air, will I make it to Las Vegas for MMS?
I'm not scheduled to leave until Monday afternoon so I am hoping it will all blow over by then, but as weekend flights are already being cancelled I'm not very hopeful at the moment.
If the flight does go, see you at MMS if you're there !
