Yesterday evening I attended the "Get Ready for System Center Data Protection Manager 2010 Release Candidate" webcast presented by Microsoft Senior Technical Product Manager, Jason Buffington. It was a great webcast with over 300 attendees that highlighted all the improvements that have been made on DPM 2007 and all that is new in DPM 2010. Jason also had a superb team in the background who did a great job answering the hundreds of questions that were posted to them. Job well done all round I'd say !
I was all ready to post an overview this morning of everything in the webcast but have noticed I have been beaten to it. So if you want to know what's what with Data Protection Manager 2010, check out this blog post, http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/windows-server/whats-what-with-data-protection-manager-2010/.
As soon as the webcast recording has been released, I'll post details of how you can get it.
The DPM 2010 RC is due for release within the next 2-3 weeks where I will be planning to do a whole set of articles covering each new feature as well as each part of the product that has been improved.
Just one last thing to mention, and that is that DPM 2010 is already available for download if you want an early look and there will be a supported upgrade path from Beta to RC and from RC to RTM.
